About me

Hello, my name is Steve Lee. I used to be a student at Robinson College, Cambridge, but I'm now out in the Real World. I work for Brown & Sharpe's Custom Metrology division in Halesfield, Telford, and live in Madeley. Users of Acorn systems can view a map of how to get here, although it would probably be best to at least introduce yourself if you were wanting to visit.

I am a founder member of the RCPS, along with Eric, Matthew and Daniel, as I enjoy eating, especially where puddings of a suitable size are involved.

My PGP public key still needs a few more signatures on it... currently only signed by Matthew.

RC5 and DES contests

I am involved in distributed.net's distributed computing effort, and have been mostly responsible for the optimisation of the ARM/StrongARM processing cores - as found in the RISC OS clients and also the ARM Linux and RiscBSD clients, and doubtless any ARM based clients which pop up in the future...

You too can distribute your unused CPU cycles. Check out the links in the above paragraph and download a client. If you want to show support for RISC OS machines, you could join the ant.org Cambridge Cracking Collective, which was started by Acorn employees and still has many on its books, or the Acorn Users Group which has now succeeded in its mission to become a permanent feature in the top 100, thereby giving (a little) more exposure to the platform.

Programs

From time to time I write programs for the Acorn. Most of them don't get finished or are only relevant to my setup. There don't seem to have been as many proper ones recently (i.e. after I started a full-time job), but a here's a couple from a few years ago:
That's all for now - maybe I'll add some more later.
